Guide for Spikemuth Gym Challenge
The Spikemuth Gym is the seventh Galar gym to be visited by the player in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Its gym leader is Piers and he specializes in dark-type pokemon.
Recommended Pokemon
- Fairy: Sylveon, Slurpuff, Gardevoir
- Ground: Excadrill, Dugtrio
Gym Mission
Unlike most gym challenges, the one in Spikemuth is straightforward. You will be pit against waves of Team Yell grunts who use dark type pokemon. Keep moving along the path leading to Piers to battle him.
Spikemuth Gym Trainers
- Team Yell Grunt A – Linoone (Lv.42)
- Team Yell Grunt B – Thievul (Lv.42)
- Team Yell Grunt C – Scrafty (Lv.42)
- Team Yell Grunt D – Weavile (Lv.43)
- Team Yell Joshua -Drapion (Lv.43) and Team Yell Grunt E Liepard (Lv.43 )
Piers Gym Challenge
- Scrafty (Lv.44), Obstagoon (Lv.46), Malamar (Lv.45), and Skuntank (Lv.45)
Piers team can be dealt with easily using fairy type pokemon, preferably Sylveon or Slurpuff. Switch in ground type pokemon when he sends out Skuntank since its part-poison typing is effective against fairy pokemon.
