The Wyndon Champion Cup is the pokemon league in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The trainer who wins the semifinals proceeds to the finals stage to face one of the Gym challengers.

Recommended Pokemon

Polaire fashioned a team of bug types and each of these have secondary types. Fire types, flying types, rock types, and steel types are great to have if you’re matched up with her. Some of her Pokemon such as Golisopod or Crustle might pull off attacks of their own because of their partial resistance to fire types. • Ribombee (Lv. 56), Golisopod (Lv. 56), Crustle (Lv. 57), Orbeetle (Lv. 57), Vikavolt (Lv. 58)

Polaire starts with Ribombee which relies on special attacks. A fire type Pokemon like Cinderace can easily knock it out with strong moves like Pyro Ball. Her next Pokemon is Golisopod which has First Impression and a water move to punish fire types. You can choose to switch to a Flying type like Corviknight and if it’s strong enough, you can prevent it from switching out for free with its ability. Corviknight is also useful against Crustle which isn’t a strong suit of most flying types because of their rock type weakness. When faced against Crustle, Corviknight can relatively safely gather buffs with Hone Claws or X Attacks since it can take a Stone Edge or two. When Polaire’s down to her last Pokemon, you can either use Max Airstream or switch to a fire type. Have it use a Max Flare to finish it off.
