Pokemon Sword and Shield - Recommended TR Moves

Overview

Preserving an old feature from the past, Technical Records or TRs function like TMs from past games. Unlike TM, a TR is finite and will break after being used. TRs have 99 different types and collectively come as an extension of TMs and tutor moves. The TR moves that are worth saving include those that help a Pokemon cover up a weakness, strengthen a Pokemon’s stats, or disrupts a foe from using its moves. For example, attaching the TR flamethrower can help some fairy types deal with steel types. Below is a list of some useful TRs and their effects.

List of recommended TR moves

Entry hazards

Entry hazards are moves that are thrown on the opponent’s side of the field. These consist of moves that deal some chip damage. In single battles, having a way to deal some chip damage to your opponents can help allies that are waiting at the back. These can be in the form of forcing switches to ensure that your Pokemon can knock out the opponent without taking a hit. Getting the needed chip damage can also double as way to deny a foe from using its held item such as focus sash or weakness policy.
