Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the latest entry to Nintendo’s series of tactical role-playing games, will be released on July 26, 2019. Ahead of its scheduled launch, Nintendo reveals artwork for older Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.

As war inevitably erupted throughout Fodlan, the three former student leaders of the Officer’s Academy lead their nations’ armies in battle. They don different outfits from the ones they wore as trainees, having attained leadership of Fodlan’s three territories.

The latest Fire Emblem: Three Houses trailer showing the older versions of characters can be viewed below.

Older Edelgard wears the main colors of her kingdom, a combination of red and gold. She also wears her empire’s crown to signify her inheritance of the Adrestian throne.

In the trailer, Edelgard retains her calm and focused demeanor as she matures throughout the story.

Dimitri

Older Dimitri is dressed in mostly black armor with a navy blue fur cape. He wears an eyepatch on his right eye, possibly from an event that will occur in the story. It is also worth noting that Dimitri does not wear a crown like Edelgard. This may suggest that he did not inherit kingship of Faerghus.

In the trailer, Dimitri is implied to have become a ruthless warlord bent on annihilating anyone who stands in his way.

Claude

Older Claude wears a dominantly tan military coat with a golden half-cape on his left shoulder and a black sash on his right. He does not have a crown, though this may be because of the Leicester Alliance’s belief of having a “kingless” nation.

In the trailer, Claude is depicted as the most reluctant to wage war against his former classmates.

The three characters also seem to wield weapons of similar make. It is possible that these are three of the legendary weapons known in Fodlan lore as Heroes’ Relics.
