Protecting Garreg Mach Strategy

1) Do not let the enemies get to the pink tile

Pink tiles are located just behind your units. During the first turn, hold your position and avoid advancing your units three or more tiles. The pre-made positions are good enough to keep the enemies away from the pink tiles, but make sure your tanky units are in the front. Your long-range hitters are the ones who will counter-attack.

Alois’ units at the other end of the map won’t move for a couple of turns. You need to have two or three powerful units like Byleth and Ferdinand deployed to take them out. After defeating a couple of enemies on the perimeter, split the party into two. Later on, you’ll run into choke points on both sides, so have a healer tag along at the back of each party. Since Byleth can hold his own in most encounters, he’ll be better off leading the group on the left. Meanwhile, assign another melee unit to lead the right and take cover in the forest tile. When you’re left to face Alois and Seteth, have your hardest-hitters like Byleth deal with one and another unit to handle the other.
