Guide on Dog and Cat Feeding at Garreg Mach Monastery

The ability to interact with dogs and cats is an exclusive feature added in Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ Expansion Pass‘s wave 3 DLC. In this feature, Byleth can use the produce, meats, and fishes he acquired as food for animals staying within Garreg Mach Monastery.

This feature benefits the player very well since low quality produce, meat, and fishes can be converted into usable items like ores. The higher the grade of meat, crop or fish, the rarer item is obtained from the animals.

How to Unlock Animal Interactions

In order to unlock the interaction with dogs and cats, the player needs to accomplish a special quest called “Feline and Canine Friends”. This quest is already accessible at the start of Chapter 2: Familiar Scenery.

Basically, you need to look for nearby and cats or dogs and feed them with what produce, meat, or fish you currently have.

Once you accomplish the quest, you will be able to feed other dogs and cats within Garreg Mach Monastery. If a dog or cat you randomly choose to feed is full already, move to another one.

There will be animals that will reward Byleth when they are fed fully. One of the rewards given by dogs and cats are ores.
