The Gautier Inheritance Strategy
1) Do not hug the inner wall at the start of battle
Stay away from the inner wall as you approach the first two enemies. The enemy archers on the other side can shoot you if you get too close.
2) Have melee units cover your ranged characters
Melee units and Byleth should be positioned around ranged and support characters as you advance. This is protects your squishier characters from enemy melee units. Wounded characters will also be in more convenient positions for support characters to heal them in this formation.
This also gives Byleth the mobility to make best use of the Sword of the Creator.
3) Take advantage of Byleth’s new weapon
Byleth should be able to take out most enemies in one or two hits with Sword of the Creator. He will also have increased range with his new weapon, allowing you to hit enemies one tile apart from you.
4) Prepare for ambushes
You will be ambushed by two rogues from behind near the start of the battle and again after defeating the lone female rogue. Gilbert can take care of them, though your ranged units might sustain damage if they are not enclosed by your melee characters.
4) Attack Miklan with magic
Miklan is vulnerable to magic in his human form. This allows spellcasters to make short work of him to clear the mission. Have Byleth and other melee units finish him off if he is still standing after the attack.
5) Use combat arts for Miklan’s second form
Miklan will transform into a demonic beast after being defeated once. Unload on him with combat arts to take out his HP. The monster breaker (ax,) monster piercer (lance,) and bane of monsters (sword) combat arts will be especially effective against him.
