Protecting Garreg Mach Strategy

1) Do not let the enemies get to the pink tile

The Alliance Leader's Ambitions

Pink tiles are located just behind your units. The best strategy for this battle is to let the enemies get close to your party and avoid advancing your units forward three or more tiles. The pre-made positions are good enough to keep the enemies away from the pink tiles, but make sure your tanky units are in the front. Your long-range hitters are the ones who will counter-attack.

Randolph’s units at the other end of the map won’t move for a couple of turns. You need to have two or three powerful units like Byleth and Seteth to get close and take them out. However, be wary of archers who might snipe at Seteth. Also, enemy Pegasus Knights will keep respawning until you defeat all the ground units.

Your other units can get close to those units too once most of the enemies at the front are defeated.
