Confrontation at the Palace Strategy
1) Path towards the Commander
The road to the commander is grueling, so make sure your party is equipped with the best equipment. Place your tanky units to the east and defeat the enemies closer to you to the north. Take the Door Key dropped by the enemy swordmaster and open the door behind him on the next turn. During the enemy’s turn, the Giant Demonic Beast to the right will start moving. That is why you should have your tanky units in that area to absorb its attacks.
This beast has three HP bars, so it is good if you have your heavy hitters deal with this monster to quickly defeat it in just one or two turns. If you have a dancer in your party, you can dance for Byleth so that he or she can attack the creature again.
You can take the north route for a faster route to the commander, but the warlocks in the left and right corners will bombard you with ballista bolts. If your units have high HP and evasion, they will surely survive these attacks.
Be wary of the enemies advancing from the south. If your units move fast enough to the north, they will be able to avoid these enemies entirely.
Another Giant Demonic Beast will also find its way onto the path to the commander. Use the same strategy as before on this monster.
2) Defeating the Commander
Even if the commander can deal heavy damage, she will have a low chance of hitting the opponent because of her low speed. Use Byleth to finish off the boss quickly.

For me, Petra is the enemy holding the door key, and I really don’t want to kill her 🙁
