Fire Emblem: Three Houses is set for release on July 26, 2019 on the Nintendo Switch. Various characters and gameplay mechanics have been revealed since its official announcement last year. One of these key features is the Divine Pulse ability.

Divine Pulse is a special power granted to the player character Byleth by the mysterious girl Sothis. The ability allows players to correct any wrong moves on their turn by reversing time. This is especially useful when playing on classic mode where characters permanently disappear upon death. The ability is demonstrated in the video below.

Source: Official Nintendo JP YouTubeThe new mechanic has been compared to Mila’s Turnwheel in Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia. The item allows players to rewind all of the player’s moves, similar to Divine Pulse. The turnwheel, however, cannot reverse the death of the player character which results in a Game Over. Players can use the item up to three times during battle when first acquired. The maximum number of uses can be increased by collecting special gear hidden in various maps.

It has not been revealed how many times players will be able to use Divine Pulse in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, though it is likely to be as limited. Divine Pulse may also be only usable if the player character is still alive.
