Jazz Jin Club Guide in Persona 5 Royal

The Jazz Jin Bar or Jazz Club is a new venue that can be visited in Kichijoji. This new hangout spot gives Phantom Thief members, excluding the Protagonist, a chance to acquire new skills that are usually away from their persona’s skill pool. In addition, an invited partner acquires a confidant boost during the event.

Persoana 5 / Persona 5 Royal - Jazz Club / Jazz Jin Bar Guide

The Jazz Club becomes accessible after ranking up Goro Akechi’s Justice Confidant to rank 4. It can be unlocked the earliest on 6/26. To enter the bar, the Protagonist must pay a door price of 3,000 yen and is open on evenings.

  1. When increasing stats on Level 99 characters if you have a +stat accessory on that pushes them to 99 (Crystal Skull R, etc) it will not give the stat boosts even if they are naturally below 99.

  2. i discovered a bug with the 11/16 cocktail; if you choose to go there via akechi’s text it will give him power fizz instead, but if you go there through the door it functions normally and gives you soultini (it even shows incorrect information on the sign signifying this). it also bypasses having to pay the entrance fee, and you can actually bypass having to pay train fare as well simply by answering texts instead of using the map to fast-travel.

  3. I can confirm that sending the calling card on 10/2 and getting a massage from Kawakami on 10/3 allows you to get to the jazz club.

  4. Arms Master could be a good pick for “Kasumi” since she suffers from low Endurance and could let her use her Physical skills (Sword Dance and Vorpal Blade, later Masquerade) and land Criticals more without always having to heal her.

  5. May I suggest Spell Master being a good pick for Akechi too? Combining it with his Persona Trait reducing his Support/Almighty skills makes him quite efficient with SP consumption all around:
    – Eiagon: 12 SP (6 SP with SM)
    – Deliberate: 30 SP (15 SP with Spell Master, 7 SP with Trait + SM)
    – Megidolaon: 38 SP (19 SP with Spell Master, 9 SP with Trait + SM)
    – Rebellion Blade: 99 SP (49 SP with Spell Master, 24 SP with Trait + SM)

Plus, I’ve never really liked the Laevateinn/Riot Gun combo and I’ve often found myself relying on Megidolaon over RG.

    • I actually found it to be better on Yusuke and Haru overall, particularly for the Lavenza Fight. It makes Hyakka Ryouran and Life Wall more viable (very useful moves in the last phase I might add) especially if you spent the previous playthrough taking them to the Jazz Club on Wednesdays like I did. I’ve never really had SP problems with Akechi personally but that’s probably because there’s not really any fights in the game where I use him for too long. Also if you have the DLC you can win a Spell Master accessory from the 2nd fight against the P3 protagonist so it’s not too much of an issue thankfully.

  6. May I suggest Spell Master being a good choice for Akechi? I think it pairs really well with Tactical Spirit/Ingenious Spirit and makes his Almighty skills much more viable (Which I’ve always found myself relying on over Riot Gun in conjunction with Eiagon and Deliberate). I’ll show some math to give an idea of what I’m getting at:

Eiagon: 12 SP (6 SP w/ Spell Master)
Deliberate: 30 SP (15 SP with Spell Master, 7 SP with Tactical/Ingenious Spirit)
Rebellion Blade: 99 SP (49 SP with Spell Master, 24 with Ingenious Spirit)
Megidolaon: 38 SP (19 SP with Spell Master, 9 with Ingenious Spirit)

  7. I tried to bring Futaba to the church to relearn all of her stats, but her name never shows up. Can someone please explain this to me???

    • Apparently Futaba isnt included in the list of people who can get their jazz club skills back. Shame really, means you either use 4 sundays to get them all back, or you go without.

Guess she doesnt need Jesus 🙁

      • You don’t actually need To be Sunday you can do it anytime you can go to the church I thought it was Sunday too but I just tested it I just walked up to the confession booth and Morgana asked me if you wanted to invite someone

  8. CAN confirm that KaSUMI can’t get heat riser, played through this game 4 times and she never gets the opportunity to learn it

  9. Just wanted to report that Kasumi’s stats indeed carry over from the Jazz Club in the US release. I read that this was a bug at launch in Japan that has been since patched (1.03). My two most recent playthroughs I have taken her every evening in the third semester, and she is now close to MAX. I also took screenshots of her ending/beginning stats on different playthroughs to verify.
