Access to Grappling Hook

In Persona 5 Royal, Joker gains access to a grappling hook that he can use to quickly travel to different places within a palace or to get up close to enemy shadows.

One way to tell when Joker can use the grappling hook is by looking at his left hand. When his idle hand glows a faint blue light, it means that a distant spot that can be interacted with the grappling hook is nearby. Press the L1 button when it appears on the screen to have Joker use the grappling hook.

Joker’s capability to use grappling hooks was already showcased in P5R’s prologue and it appears to already be usable in the Kamoshida Palace. However, it was explained that using Joker’s “Chain Wire”, an ability to catch enemy shadows from behind, would require a level 4 in Kasumi Yoshizawa’s Faith Confidant.
