In order to have a much easier time against this boss, we recommend having the following skills in your arsenal:
- Tarunda – Decrease 1 foe’s attack power for 3 turns. (Level 11 Carmen required.)
- Headbutt – Deal medium Phys damage to 1 foe. Chance of inflicting Forget. (Level 11 Captain Kidd required.)
- Dia – Slightly restore 1 ally’s HP.

1) Focus Attacks on the Trophy of Obsession
As soon as the battle begins, focus on attacking Asmodeus. Once you have weakened him, he will begin to drink from his trophy to heal. After he heals once, target all your attacks on his trophy, as this prevents him from patching himself up back to full HP. Avoid spending too much SP during the first half of the fight as Asmodeus’ Volleyball Assault, which strikes two party members twice, does not deal significant damage at this time.
2) Choose Between Ryuji or Morgana in Obtaining the Treasure
With the trophy out of the way, you are free to use an all-out attack. After destroying the trophy, you will resume trying to take the boss’ treasure Initiate by sending Ryuji or Morgana off while leaving Anne because Anne won’t be able to successfully steal the treasure. Be wary of his Gold Medal Spike, since it will strike all party members and deal heavy damage. When he signals the attack, be sure to guard with everyone to ensure survival.
3) Defeat Cognitive Shiho Immediately (For Persona 5 Royal only)
In Persona 5 Royal, he will summon a cognitive version of Mishima to assist him in his Gold Medal Spike attacks. Then, he will summon a cognitive version of Shiho as an additional minion in battle. Prioritize in defeating her immediately by using multiple physical attacks before she reaches her turn.
4) Debuff the Shadow Kamoshida’s Attacks.
His Golden Knife skill is concerning as it deals severe damage to one ally. Try to preserve Anne in particular, as her Tarunda can weaken Asmodeus’ attack, making the battle much more manageable. Use this to cancel out his attack buffing skill Lustful Slurp. After stalling for a while, the sent ally should distract Asmodeus, enabling the party to strike him while crippled for heavy damage to finish off the fight.
