Guide on How to Defeat Heavenly Punisher (Archangel)
The Heavenly Punisher is a mini-boss faced by the Phantom Thieves both in Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal. The mini-boss wields an Archangel persona form and is encountered during their mission at Kamoshida’s Palace.

Boss Strategies (Both Versions)
Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against the mini-boss. This applies to both Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal unless otherwise specified.
Apply Debuffs
Land debuff skills against the mini-boss at the start of the battle. Since Joker can only access -nda debuff skills, start with Sukunda. Then, followed by Tarunda and Rakunda.
Use Guard to Minimize Damage
Every time you see the Heavenly Punisher casting Charge, command all party members to Guard in battle. This will ensure all party members to survive until the next turn.
Assign Skull and Panther for Physical Skills and Attacks
The mini-boss has strong resistance against Fire and Electric attacks. We suggest assigning Ryuji and Panther for physical skills and attacks respectively. Panther can switch being a support and damage dealer in battle. Joker can also contribute as a physical damage dealer if he has access to physical skills.
Assign Joker and Mona for Curse and Wind Skills
The mini-boss’s Curse weakness does not trigger in battle. However, Curse can still provide decent damage unlike Fire and Electric attacks. Wind can also damage the mini-boss without any issue as well. Just make sure that Mona can juggle as a healer and damage dealer efficiently.
