Persona 5 Royal - What We Know About Kasumi So Far

Who is Kasumi?

Kasumi Yoshizawa is a skilled rhythmic gymnast who has a determined personality. Similar to the protagonist, Kasumi is a transfer student to Shujin Academy. Despite becoming a member of the Phantom Thieves, her beliefs contradict theirs. In fact, she was even teased to have a couple of conversations with Akechi.

Bits and pieces were shown that reveal some information about Kasumi. She has a fondness for food as seen in the cutscene with Takuto and the protagonist on their lunch break. She was also hinted to be a decent performer in the school dance competition.

She wields a rapier and lever-action pistol. The weapons she uses gives her an edge in both close quarters and distant combat.

First appearance

In the introductory special livestream, we first saw Kasumi in some of the new prologue cutscenes. After the protagonist was ambushed by shadows, Kasumi intercepted them and offered a hand.

What is her Persona?

Kasumi’s initial persona is Cendrillon. The name alludes to the French adaptation of the popular classic tale Cinderella by Charles Perrault.

So far, we have seen that Cendrillon carries skills such as Heat Wave and Vorpal Blade. In Morgana’s second report, it was teased that Cendrillon will also specialize in blessing skills.

What is her Confidant?

Kasumi belongs to the Faith arcana. Although she doesn’t belong to the same arcana as Takuto, she also represents a new Arcana in the game. Unlike all the others, this arcana only has five abilities. In a rough translation, one of these abilities is a rank 4 skill that allows a Phantom Thief to ambush shadows from afar.
