Overview
Over on their Twitter page, ATLUS West posts an official trailer for Persona 5 Royal. The trailer, titled “Meet the Phantom Thieves,” lasts a little over a minute and a half. Apart from the original cast, the trailer also teases Shujin Academy’s new transfer student, Kasumi Yoshizawa.
English Trailer Announced
For those not in the loop, the latest trailer for the english version used, “I Believe,” the same song which frequently appeared in various Japanese P5R teasers namely the Japanese Morgana Reports. In addition, the trailer gave us a quick rundown of the ShowTime attacks. From what we grasped from the Japanese trailers so far, ShowTime attacks cover either a character’s lone wolf or his combined attacks with an ally in order to deal massive damage on enemy Shadows. The attacks were briefly shown, with near seamless transitions showing the possible ShowTime attacks as well as combinations between compatible characters. These combinations are reminiscent of Persona Q2’s unison skill, a powerful attack that yields roughly 200 to as much as nearly 900 points of damage.
Meet Kasumi Yoshizawa
New girl, Kasumi Yoshizawa, also debuts with voice acting for combat for the first time. In it, we can hear Kasumi calling out her Persona, Cendrillon and then having her use Heat Wave against an enemy Shadow in an unknown location. The voice actor already revealed the announcement a couple of months ago and fans can check out the original tweet which includes the E3 2019 trailer down below. That being said, we can’t help but notice that the trailer kept some secrets hidden in the dark. Among them include the fact that Kasumi lacked a codename. On top of that, some of the Phantom Thieves also didn’t show their combined attacks which could hint at the possibility of more unlockable ShowTime attacks.
I woke up to the announcement and I cannot express in words how excited I am to be playing Kasumi in Persona 5 The Royal. I literally cried when I found out I booked the part, and I have figuratively been going crazy having to keep quiet! Please enjoy!https://t.co/REL1jgtf1g

Finally, the trailer then closed with the words “Wear the Mask,” which is possibly the theme tied to their campaign. In case you missed it, you can watch the official trailer below.
