Dakini

Dakini is from Buddhism. She is portrayed as an energetic female being. Because of her dancing abilities, She can evoke of the movement of energy in space. Dakini has different guises, allowing her different representations. Because of her various guises, she serves as each of the Three Roots.

At one point, she took the guise of a human guru. In this form, she was a vajra master who taught the Vajrayana teachings to her disciples before joining them in Samaya commitments. Another form of Dakini is known as the Yidam. When in this form, she is a meditative deity. She teaches Vajrayogani to those who take-up Tibetan Buddhism. However, she is also a protector who has the special power and responsibility to protect the integrity of oral transmissions.
