Persona 5 Royal - Secret Boss Guide

Overview

There are three optional secret boss battles that can be unlocked in Mementos and the nearby areas.

Below is a summary of the unlock conditions and rewards.

Jose

Unlocked on 1/13 after the Mementos Infiltration. After collecting enough stamps, you will unlock the Path of Da’at. Go through the path and you will face Jose in the depths. If he does not appear, head to entrance, change the areas, and then check again.

Jose Boss Guide
After clearing, you will obtain “Star-Shaped Basin.” You can claim another reward by talking to Jose in the “Cognitive Command Room.” Speak to him and you will get “Senior of Life.”

Justine and Caroline

You can battle the twins between 5/9 to 12/22 in New Game+. You must complete the game with the Good (Normal) ending for the pair to appear. To fight the twins, talk to Caroline in front of the Velvet Room. The place is near the entrance to Mementos. You can take them on as many times as you want. However, you can only claim one reward for every playthrough.

The items that can be obtained from clearing the boss battle include “Hour Reduction Ring,” “Time Saving Ring,” and “Destination of Rehabilitation.”

Justine and Caroline Boss Guide

Lavenza

Lavenza appears in New Game+. After completing the game and getting the Good ending, secure the route of the last Palace. This unlocks the hidden battle in Mementos which occurs between 1/14 and 2/2. You don’t need to defeat Justine and Caroline to unlock this battle. In addition, you don’t have to be in the Special Prison. If you fail to defeat Lavenza, head to the Velvet Room and interact with Lavenza to start another battle. Similar to the fight with the twins, you can also redo the battle and can only claim the reward once per playthrough.

After defeating her, you will obtain “Bookmark Parquet,” “Almighty True Sphere,” and “True Become Rehabilitation.”
