Recommended Party Level
We recommend having all party members at level 11 to be able to unlock essential attacks or skills. You can farm experience by repetitively fighting Archangel and Angel personas in the throne room floor. These shadows are stationed in front of the staircase leading to the throne room or behind the last safe room.

Boss Strategies
Here is a breakdown of the battle strategies against boss. This applies to both Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal unless otherwise specified.
Setup Party Roles
Joker, Panther, and Skull’s roles are to apply buff/debuffs and damage against Shadow Kamoshida. Mona will be the party’s primary healer while also dealing additional damage to the boss.
Start with Joker landing Sukunda on the boss at the start. Then, apply Panther’s Tarunda on Shadow Kamoshida. Have Skull buff a party member using his Tarukaja. Preferably, the next party member who hasn’t used its turn yet.
Focus Attacks on the Trophy of Obsession
Focus on attacking Shadow Kamoshida. Once you have weakened him, he will begin to drink from his trophy to heal.
After he heals once, aim all of your next attacks on his trophy. This will prevent him from patching himself up back to full HP. Avoid spending too much SP during the first half of the fight as Asmodeus’ Volleyball Assault, which strikes two party members twice, does not deal significant damage at this time.
Prepare for his Gold Medal Spike
In Persona 5 Royal, he will summon a cognitive version of Mishima to assist him in his Gold Medal Spike attack.
Be wary of his Gold Medal Spike, since it will strike all party members and deal heavy damage. When he signals the attack, be sure to guard with everyone to ensure survival.
Then, he will summon a cognitive version of Shiho as an additional minion in battle. Prioritize in defeating Shiho immediately by any means before she reaches her turn.
Send Ryuji in Stealing the Crown
With the trophy out of the way, you are free to use an all-out attack. After destroying the trophy, you will resume trying to take the boss’ treasure which is his crown. Command Ryuji to steal the treasure while stalling Shadow Kamoshida with your continuous attacks or skills.
Shadow Kamoshida’s Golden Knife attack is concerning as it deals severe damage to one ally. Try to secure Anne in particular, as her Tarunda can weaken Asmodeus’ attack, making the battle much more manageable. Also, use Tarunda to cancel out his attack buff skill, Lustful Slurp.
Deal Heavy Damage when Shadow Kamoshida is Down
After stalling for a while, the sent ally should distract Asmodeus, enabling the party to strike him while crippled for heavy damage to finish off the fight.
Make sure that all party members are buffed while Shadow Kamoshida is debuffed to maximize the damage dealt.

The video makes it look so easy. xD I didn’t realize I was meant to grind more, so I reached this guy at lvl 8. Everytime I send someone to get the crown they get noticed. I think it’s not enough to just attack each turn, I think there’s a min damage needed per turn. The max I do is 50 (Joker) with the the two healers fixing up after the volleball spikes. Those attacks don’t trigger Kamoshida’s dialogue though.
Hi, jake keeps dying! The video is already a new game plus so I can import my previous personas from the compendium in a new playthrough.
It is really recommended to level grind in the first palace prior to the boss battle. I didn’t notice the minimum damage required but I kept on debuffing Kamoshida and hitting him with gun attacks. Also, I invested in strong armor for all of my characters way back on my first run IIRC.
