Sraosha

Sraosha is part of Zoroastrian mythology. His name is Avestan in origin and means Obedience or Observance. Sraosha appears in the Gathas. Sraosha associates himself with the Amesha Spentas and the six Bounteous Immortals. Some say Sraosha is the “ear” of Ahura Mazda.

Because he is Ahura Mazda’s ear, he is the most important of the Yazatas. He personifies the highest virtue of humanity, which is obedience and submission to Divine Law. During the night and day, Sraosha guards all against the evil demons that dare attack humanity. He often works alongside Rashnu and Mithra when judging the souls of the dead.
