Throne

The Throne angel is the third rank of angels. Some refer to them as the Thrones or Elders. Other times in the bible, people revere them as the Erelim or Ophanim. Paul of Tatsus mentions these angels in one of his readings, saying they are related to the throne of God.

Because they are living symbols of God’s justice and authority, they are the closest to God’s spiritual perfection and the light of God. Their closeness with God makes people revere them for being able to mirror God’s goodness. However, despite their greatness, the Throne remain extremely humble. This allows them to dispense justice without bias. They can do this with perfect objectivity without any fear of pride or ambition. Because they are granted God’s authority to dispense justice, they are called Thrones and have a throne as one of their symbols. However, contrary to their appearance, Ezekiel describes Thrones as eye covered wheels rather than humanoids.
